Remember back in August when I ranted about my strange obsession with cropped floral pants? You don’t? Then please refresh your memory. I didn’t exactly style them the way that I outlined in that post, nor did I find street style shutterbugs following my every move, but I did get an unexpected boost of confidence from my latest purchase in the pants department. Not only are these babies inexpensive, but they also fit very well, and have editorial cred: I’ve seen them in Lucky and a couple other publications. They also contain the colors of practically ever spring/summer top I own so the possibilities are endless. Well that concludes my little ode to the H&M floral wonders, expect me in some similarly blooming pieces as the season continues. What do you think of the floral trend and how would you wear it? Feel free to discuss in the comments.

Judging by Balmain’s, Burberry’s, and Balenciaga’s (a trifecta of “B” Brands) Spring 2011 collections, studs are here to stay, no matter how many people claimed the trend was dead a few seasons ago. I am a huge fan of studs and grommets. In fact, these punk pieces are my favorite type of clothing embellishment. Even if I don’t wear them often, I am drawn to their ability to give the most classic pieces some street-cred. Although these toughed up leathers come in a myriad of colors, beige and tan spike-covered pieces make me swoon. The light color is perfect for Spring and they’ll even be comfortable in the current cool Northeastern climate. What I really love is how the light, feminine color is contrasted with the studs. Nothing like a good ole juxtaposition to make my heart flutter.
