Sweet Swimsuit Saturdays

1., 2., & 3. Malia Mills swim suits, 4.  Malia Mills, Marissa, and I in the Brooklyn boutique

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Maybe the warm weather had you thinking about spring break, summer, and sun.   Maybe those thoughts made you think swimsuits. If you’re looking for a new bikini or maillot then I’ve got you covered.

Saturday my fellow blogger and friend Marissa of ‘Well, Do You Know Me Well?’, and Fashion Meets Art, and I attended the Malia Mills Brooklyn grand opening after-party.  This is the fourth Malia Mills boutique in New York City and the tenth in the U.S.  The brand is committed to providing women with stress-free swimsuit shopping experiences.  The suits are beautifully constructed out of high quality materials and are fitted by bra size, so a perfect fit is guaranteed.  The boutique also carries a variety of clothing options that look great on the Hamptons beaches or the city streets.  The store had a cool Brooklyn vibe, with exposed white brick walls on one side and sliver wood paneling on the other.  Photos of real customers in all shapes and sizes lined the walls, giving the shop a real community feel and showing how the suits flatter all body types.

Betty Bakery gingerbread, pistachio cookie, and oatmeal cookie

Afterwords, my friends I and headed to Betty Bakery, an adorable bake shop in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn.  If you think quality baked goods can’t be bought in NYC for less than three bucks, you are wrong!  I picked up two cookies for only 80¢ and cupcakes are only $2.95 each (I know that’s practically $3, but whatever, it’s still cheaper!)  Marissa munched on a red velvet cupcake that looked divine.  They also had some gorgeous wedding cakes on display.  Fashion and food, my two favorite things, combined for a great day.  Check back tomorrow for info on my outfit.
