Hello everyone! Like my new look? I decided that in this new year, and new semester it was time to re-evaluate my blog and give it a totally new look. From now on, Mainstream Misfit will focus mostly on informative and entertaining posts about fashion, art, and style. I have a few projects in the works that I hope to debut soon. Of course NY Fashion Week begins today, so I’ll be sure to fill you in on the energy and the shows here in the city. If you a wondering what to wear to the shows, Kate and Laura Mulleavy debuted their new line Rodarte for Opening Ceremony yesterday. The collection is much more wearable than their runway line, but it maintains the whimsy and exquisite craftsmanship of the original collection. In addition to the edgy leather dresses, lace pants, and draped or pleated skirts, the Rodarte for Opening Ceremony collection includes tights, sunglasses, bags, and shoes, as well as updated classic menswear. In a WWD article by Bridget Foley entitled Rodarte Gets Ceremonial, published yesterday, Laura Mulleavy described the collection as being inspired by road-trip landscapes.
Here are some of my favorite pieces for sale or pre-order.
What do you think of the Line?
